The Month of June
Pride Show. My work “Golden Trail” is on display at the Sierra Art’s Foundation Annex Gallery for the annual Pride Show. This gallery is a great place to see many local artists’ work on a curated topic each month. If you’re looking for some colorful or Pride-themed art, swing by before the end of this month to find your piece. 17 S Virginia St, Reno, NV 89501.
Shine Salon. I’m delighted to announce I am collaborating with Shine Salon in Reno-Sparks. Shine is an exclusive full-service Aveda salon with a holistic approach to beauty. One way they give back to the community is showcasing local businesses in their salon space, selecting artisans who share their environmental leadership and responsibility, both in the world of beauty and beyond. “Even the simplest, seemingly insignificant choices we make in our daily lives—what to eat, what to wear, what to use on our bodies and in our homes—have a ripple effect that reaches far beyond us personally.” I am in the works of making originals for display and purchase at the salon that reflect these principles and ideas. This connection formed through Lea, a massage therapist and aesthetician, who attended my last Paint ‘n Sip and shared that her salon could benefit from local artwork on its walls. Check out their reviews online – I’m proud to be working with an outstanding establishment.
Lifthouse Artist Reception. Thank you to all of you for coming to my reception at Lifthouse Coffee last month and sharing your great conversations! Juli, the owner of Lifthouse, and I are planning a painting class for you who live in Truckee. Perhaps a Hike and Paint?! More details on some fun creative outings coming soon.
HOKA gala. The Reno Running Company x HOKA x Reno Fine Arts Collective art gala this month displayed the four paintings I created for HOKA as one of the selected artists creating original work for their national ST/ART PACK campaign, highlighting the local running community through art. We auctioned one of the paintings with 100% of funds given to charity organization JDRF, which supports research on type 1 diabetes. The other three paintings are taking up home around town in small businesses, including one in Reno Running Company. You can read the blog I wrote for HOKA on their website here: BTS: Behind The ST/ART Pack (hoka.com).
Originals
I created three original paintings this month that will be up for sale tomorrow on Etsy. The first is 24x24 inches in size, oil on gallery-wrapped canvas, inspired by spring skiing at Heavenly Ski Resort. “Drop In!”
The second is a huge 4x4ft oil painting on gallery wrapped canvas. It was inspired by my recent trip to Bridgeport mountaineering Matterhorn Peak. I was vibrating with energy to create this piece after the experience. Make sure you have a big enough wall before buying this one.
The third is an orange rose that I painted for fun this month. It is oil, 20x20 inches on gallery-wrapped canvas. “Breath of Life”.
Commissions
When I look at this commissioned painting, it inspires me to prioritize my own strolls in the woods. Thank you David and Sue!
I enjoyed the Summer Solstice this week painting the sun rising over the Sierras in real time. Lesley, it was such a pleasure to make this vision come to life for you. These are Lesley’s words:
“I celebrated the first day of summer by having the sunrise from my balcony captured by the incredibly talented @atthesummitarts ! For years, I’ve woken up early on the longest day of the year to admire the spectacular view from my living room, and it’s always been so breathtaking that no photograph could ever do it justice. It’s been a dream to have this specific view captured so I can bring this piece of home with me wherever I go, and I’m so grateful to Blair who brought this dream to life in the best way possible.”
Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

The quote of the month I want to share with you is:
“I expand in abundance, success, and love every day as I inspire those around me to do the same.”
This quote is from Gay Hendrick’s book “The Big Leap”, which I recommend.
Make it a great remainder of your month!
