Monthly Update
Hello All!
Welcome to everyone who signed up to this newsletter at Wah-Send or the Riverside Mother’s Day Farmer’s Market!
I have a few opportunities you may be interested in.
The next Paint ‘n Sip I am hosting is at Space Cadet in Reno (off Wells) on Friday the 27th at 6pm. We’ll use acrylic paints and repurposed canvases to make your own painting of El Cap. It is $30 - sign up on Space Cadet’s website under “Creative Calendar” – here’s the link: Space Cadet (cadetspace.com) BYOB!
On the note of Paint ‘n Sips, if you are a business owner who would like to offer your customers a monthly painting evening with me, shoot me an email, we can make that happen! If you would enjoy a private painting night with your friends/family at your house or at Space Cadet, also shoot me an email, we can make that happen too.
I am having an artist reception at Lifthouse Coffee in Truckee, off Brockway (near downtown), this Sunday the 22nd, 9-11am. The idea of this reception is to provide a casual social hang-out, chat, drink some Lifthouse coffee, and look at the cool art I recently installed there. I have new originals that are not up for sale anywhere else but there!
The next public art fair events you can attend and see/own new works will be:
Truckee Thursday July 7th 5-8:30PM
Wandering Wyld ArtTown at The Village at Rancharrah (Reno) July 21, 5-9PM
Truckee Thursday July 28th 5-8:30PM
Truckee Thursday August 11th 5-8:30PM
A bit further in the future is the inaugural Reno-Tahoe International Art Show from September 8-11 at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center. This is a big one, showing the works of all the best artists in the Tahoe basin. A day pass to the showing is $25 (available at the door). You can also buy tickets for the black-tie artist awards gala, concerts, and other events that correspond with the gallery showing. I’ll be making my best work for that show this summer (stoked!). Here’s the link to check that out: Art Show | Reno Tahoe International Art Show | Reno (rtiashow.com)
Thank you to those of you who commissioned work from me last month. It is a gift to me to serve others this way. These are some I’d like to share with everyone:
The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church’s sign and wooden grapes repainted. Evergreen Painting and Texture repainted the inside of the church and commissioned me to paint the sign on their behalf, which was more technical than their usual work.
Bob wanted a pop of color in his apartment. 3 x 4 ft, oil on canvas.
Dave’s gift to his brother, who is a veteran. This is him and his service dog.
Julia’s grad cap, welcoming a new environmental scientist to Reno’s workforce.
Bri and Michael’s surfboard: the Na Pali Coast, their first backpacking trip together.
Katie’s custom kitchen utensil boxes for her camper van.
A gift from Nick to his sister of her kitten on her expecting belly.
Lastly, a thank you to the Mono Arts Council, who are exhibiting my work “Freedom of the Hills” in their Mammoth Lakes gallery for the spring/summer! It is for $2600 and half of proceeds are donated to supporting local youth arts education.
I’m happy to see you at some of the events coming up! Let me know if you’d like any custom work or if you are interested in an original of a particular subject that I could make.
Have a great week!
